Il est dat\u00e9 d\u2019environ 17 millions d\u2019ann\u00e9es. Dans le gisement, une riche faune fossile a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9gag\u00e9e\u00a0; plus de 90 esp\u00e8ces de vert\u00e9br\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9pertori\u00e9es, incluant 50 esp\u00e8ces de mammif\u00e8res, de reptiles, d\u2019amphibiens et d\u2019oiseaux.
