Dimension concerns.

Post by Wolfashin » Sun 14 Apr 2019, 21:35

Hello,

I have a question regarding sensory modules and dimensions.
Our robot is within the required dimensions, but when we install a sensor module(LIDAR), it is about 1cm out of range.

My question is the following:
If we are to install the sensory module(LIDAR) would our robot fall within the dimension constrains or would it not,
and can we install it as it is now(~1cm bigger) and it being legitimate.

Thank you in advance!

Which dimension is out of range? The perimeter of the robot or its height? Maybe more details or a schematic could help to understand
If some parts of your robot are not inside the constraints, it will not be accepted, so you have to review the LIDAR's integration.

If this is an issue of height, there is a dedicated place under the beacon support in which you are allowed to put sensors (figure 11 label 3 on page 23 of the English version of the rules). Some teams use it, you can check their past creations for ideas.
