The new season is launched under the sign of the treasure hunt.
For this year continues to be an opportunity to share our passion for robotics in a friendly atmosphere, I wish that it begins on the right foot.
For this I would like to give you some explanations which aims to help you understand the situation that we humbly recognize as somewhat nebulous in terms of communication.
1) The absence of draft in July: It is no shortage of work, it is a deliberate choice that aims to be synchronize with the school planning. In this way, amateur clubs and school structures then begin the same time. If it appears that we had a bad communication, please accept our apologies.
2) The spread of 2012 Rules: Rules are completely finished since last week and we planned to broadcast you as soon as possible. The problem is that the English version is not fully translated. For the fair-play with not French speaking participants, we took the decision to delay the spread of the rules but provide you the power-point presentation that have been quick to translate. We also decided to submit the technical plans because we know the importance of starting to make the playing and the table as quickly as possible because it is always the starting point of all new seasons of robotics. So, have confidence in the data supplied, they are reliable.
3) 2012 will be a year exceptional. We decided to merge the committees in charge of writing the game for Jr Eurobot and Eurobot in order to product common rules in order to rationalize resources, but also to allow new interactions between young people of both events. This decision has changed the way we work (19 years of different cultures !!!) and also certainly contributed to the delay in translating the rules. To this was added as difficulty the fact that since 3 months the employee of Planète Sciences is missing, usually in charge of supporting the drafting of rules and other administrative and communication tasks.
4) Management Forum: In the absence of final rules, we want to limit our interventions to avoid to rewrite the rules bit by bit in the forum before the final release. This explains why the topics are frozen. Our volunteer time is limited and we want to use to quality interventions. In general, please notice that we will revise the way we interact with you on the forum to be more in harmony with our involment and your needs. So we have an internal meeting Wednesday night to find the best match between our desires, our availability and your requests still more numerous, but we must succeed together to structure.
As member of Eurobot association, it was normal to send you some information and I beg you to excuse us for not having done so earlier.
